The MUP Academic Monograph Series showcases the best of Australian academic research and writing. The list is especially designed for readers and writers of scholarly material by making specialist research readily available in an affordable and attractive choice of formats.

All MUP monographs are peer reviewed and are intended to support the community of scholars from early career researchers to eminent senior academics.

MUP monographs focus on a broad range of disciplines, including Aboriginal issues; Australian and international history; law; politics and international relations; science and the environment; media and culture; fine arts and cinema; Islamic studies; social justice; literary criticism; and philosophy.

MUP is proud to have published many noteworthy monographs in recent years, among them Honour Among Nations by Marcia Langton; Asian Alternatives by Garry Woodard; Australia's Own Cold War by Tom Sheridan; Against the Grain edited by Stuart Macintyre and Sheila Fitzpatrick; and the edited collection Fresh Water by Emily Potter, Alison Mackinnon and Stephen McKenzie.

d-books (print-on-demand books)

MUP d-books are perfect-bound paperbacks that, upon ordering, are produced from electronic files as single units or in small print runs in a digital print-on-demand (POD) system. The finished product is equivalent in quality to books found in your bookstore.

e-books (electronic books)

MUP e-books are available for purchase as an electronic document, usually in Acrobat PDF format. Our e-books often contain supplementary and extra content that is not available in the physical book. In addition, e-books will contain active hyperlinks and colour illustrations (if applicable).
