Hilary McPhee

Hilary McPhee, writer and editor, founded McPhee Gribble Publishers with Diana Gribble in 1975. She was Chair of the Australia Council for the Arts 1994-7, inaugural Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow at Melbourne University until 2004. From 2005-10 she lived and worked between the Middle East and Italy, writing a book and articles about the region. Her books include Other People’s Words (2001) Wordlines (2010), and Memoirs of a Young Bastard: the Diaries of Tim Burstall (2012). She was awarded an OA for service to the Arts in 2003.
