Essays that entered everyday language. Essays that sparked royal commissions. Essays that inspired global movements. Since the 1940s, Meanjin essays have set Australia’s national agenda.
Join us at the narrm ngarrgu library’s beautiful event space to celebrate the launch of Essays that Changed Australia: Meanjin 1940 to today.
Featured essayist Tony Birch will launch the book in conversation with editor Esther Anatolitis: Tony’s 1992 essay ‘“Nothing has changed”’: the making and unmaking of Koori culture’ is the first of the twenty essays presented.
Meet every available essayist and past Meanjin editor and be the first to secure this handsome edition. Copies will be available for sale and signing. Our guest bookseller is the Mary Martin Queen Victoria Market bookshop.
