Launch of Meanjin with Mark Pesce

Celebrate the launch of Meanjin’s summer edition with contributor Mark Pesce, as he discusses his essay ‘The Last Days of Reality’.

Meanjin editor Jonathan Green will join Pesce for a Q&A to elaborate on burning questions such as: what if fake news is just the tip of the iceberg? Does our increasing immersion in the online world threaten our capacity to differentiate between what’s real and what’s not? And, if so, what does this mean for politics, culture and the very nature of reality?

Justine Hyde, Director of Library Services and Experience at State Library Victoria, will MC.

Mark Pesce is an inventor, writer, entrepreneur, educator and broadcaster with 35 years’ experience working in technology. He hosts the Next Billion Seconds podcast, and holds honorary appointments at both the University of Sydney and UTS, with a particular focus on how people share and learn in the 21st century.

Jonathan Green is the editor of Meanjin.

This event is free, but please register here.
