About the event:

Settle in for an evening of literary discovery as six emerging writers present diverse new works, which span everything from a deliciously dark fairytale retelling to a novel set in the dysfunctional world of the public health system.

Hear from writer, editor and lawyer Fernanda Dahlstrom as she shares her memoir The Framing, exploring the complexities of trust and betrayal in family relationships. Novelist Lily Crozier’s romantasy debut Vow of Eternal Night reimagines Beauty and the Beast as a vampire tale. Kerry Jewell offers a darkly funny take on the medical drama in A Little Unwell. Emerging Indo-Fijian poet Lesh Karen considers fractured histories, identity and the diaspora in two new poems. Podcaster of The Hook Up fame Dee Salmin goes deep on love, relationships and dating culture with It’s Not Love, Actually. And Gamilaroi man Harrison Abbott’s Voiceworks poem investigates AI (Australian Intelligence), asking, ‘In one century, will artificial imagery be our only record of Indigeneity?’

Join them at The Moat with host Pranati Narayan Visweswaran.
