The Islamic Studies Series
The Islamic Studies Series (ISS) is aimed at producing internationally competitive research manuscripts that showcase the breadth of scholarship on Islam and Muslim affairs, making these studies available to a wide readership.
Books in the series are based on original research and represent a number of disciplines including anthropology, cultural studies, sociology and political science.Published under MUP's Academic Monograph Series since 2008, the ISS contributes to the consolidation of the community of scholars on Islamic and Muslim affairs and serves as a tool to showcase Australian research excellence internationally.
Books in the ISS are refereed publications that are committed to research excellence.
The ISS Founding Editor is Professor Shahram Akbarzadeh, Research Professor of Middle East & Central Asian Politics at Deakin University and Deputy Director (International) at the Alfred Deakin Research Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation.
