Emeritus Professor David Horner is an Official Historian of Australian Defence History at the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs at the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific. He is the author or editor of many books on Australian military history, strategy, command and defence policy, including General Vasey's War, The Commanders: Australian Military Leadership in the Twentieth Century and High Command: Australia and Allied Strategy 1939-1945.
