John Hetherington

John Hetherington was a journalist, military historian and autobiographer. Between 1945-1949 he was the editor in chief of the Adelaide news . In 1954 he joined the Age writing a column ‘Collins Street Calling’. He published his first biography Blamey in 1954 and followed to write a multitude of other memoirs and biographies including Melba , which won the 1968 Sir Thomas White prize for biography.
