Gabriella Coslovich at the Art Gallery of NSW

It was a cause célèbre: the biggest case of alleged art fraud to come before the Australian criminal justice system, a $4.5 million sting drawing in one of the country’s most gifted and ultimately tragic artists, Brett Whiteley. It started with suspicions raised about artworks being produced in the style of Whiteley in a Melbourne art restorer’s studio, with secret photographs taken as the paintings took form.

In her new book on the scandal, Whiteley on trial, author Gabriella Coslovich talks about the trial and acquittal by the Appeals Bench.

There will be a Q & A after the talk, followed by a book signing.

Ticket prices are $35 for non-members, and $25 for members.
