On Mother: Sarah Ferguson in conversation with Virginia Haussegger at ANU

Sarah Ferguson will be in conversation with Virginia Haussegger on Sarah's new book On Mother, which reveals her relationship with her mother with poignant clarity and shows the individual who existed beyond motherhood. Sarah Ferguson's homage to her mother reflects on the complex bonds shared between mothers and daughters.

Pre-event book signing will be available from 5.30pm and again after the event.This event is in association with Dymocks Canberra and books wll be available to purchase. Register your interest on the ANU website.


Sarah Ferguson is an award winning  journalist at the ABC. The Killing Season in 2015, has been called one of Australia's finest documentaries, In the same year, Sarah wrote and presented Hitting Home, the landmark series on domestic violence. She has presented the ABC's 7.30 programme and worked as a journalist on Four Corners, where she won five Walkleys. Sarah has also won five Logies for most outstanding public affairs reporting.

Virginia Haussegger AM is a passionate women's advocate and communication specialist. She is an award-winning television journalist, writer and commentator, whose extensive media career spans more than 25 years, including anchoring the ABC's flagship TV News in Canberra from 2001 to 2016. In late 2016 Virginia was appointed to head a new gender equality initiative, the 50/50 by 2030 Foundation, at the University of Canberra's Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis, where she is an Adjunct Professor.
